Its just ebay people being dicks. Other than accidentally killing the internal power circuits because they use an obscure 6v power supply and its not labelled at all, they're pretty much indestructible, to an astonishing degree for something originally designed in 1978!
Was that the one when Royal Mail changed the worldwide postage zones and overnight it mysteriously became cheaper to post a package to a tiny village in the middle of nowhere in Africa or the Australian outback, than to post the same thing to New York? 🤔
Which doesn't explain why the majority of the dozens of listing on ebay at any one time all have the title "vintage speak & spell - VERY RARE" 😉

Sold a FX rack on an ebay auction for £80 last week and the buyer has immediately just relisted it for £240 buy it now. There's not a hope in hell of him getting that much, but what's unbearably irritating is that he's stolen my photos as well! Talk about adding insult to injury. Absolute bastard!
There was definitely a stage where this stuff was worth nothing. You could get once insanely expensive video kit on ebay for bugger all. Weirdly its often the cheapest way i've found to get hold of subracks for repurposing as eurorack cases, and you usually get a hardcore power supply thrown in.
Just reading about the EU’s General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) starting in December. We can't afford to pay someone in the EU to be the 'responsible person' for every single item we sell. Its difficult to understand as it seems ridiculous, but i think we might be fucked....
Labelling everything is an excellent idea, but only if you start doing it right from the beginning...
