Huge respect for landlords like this one, but why aren't we incentivizing landlords who act like this? Sure, the City can't replace the funds a landlord might get via raising rents & finding new businesses/tenants. But surely we could think of something...

How can we solve the lack of housing w/o first addressing issues like this? I'm not asking for folx/the city to ignore slum lords like this. But where will all those living there go? Why not have a mechanism to punish the landlords, but allow those living there to stay - while fixing the place up?
