could a Mets World Series close the abyss the cubs’ one opened?

The problem with the last two miracle-ish wins is that they were followed by the 2004 and 2016, elections. OTOH, if the Mets come back and win a Subway Series, President Gore can assume what’s rightfully his and end climate change once and for all.
