The CEO-to-worker pay ratio at S&P 500 companies was 268-to-1 last year. That means it would take workers more than five career lifetimes to make what CEOs make in a single year. When I say the system is rigged, this is what I mean.

A graph of the CEO-to-worker pay ratio from 1965-2022. It was 20.7 in 1965 and remained under 100 until the late 90s, when it launched into the stratosphere during the dotcom boom and has remained there since. The ratio in 2022 was 344.5.
