Agreed, this vastly underestimates the impact. We had an entire real-time data collection pipeline at the Digital Democracy Lab that is essentially now lying dormant. And not to speak of the many studies in preparation that will now never see the light of day, and that’s just a few teams in Zurich.
This must vastly underestimate numbers. I have two papers using Twitter data but will not write any more of the ones in had plan rd and have several students who were planning to but will not.
