there are a few pop culture touchstones where I just know that anyone who references them is kindred to me, and one of them is “which of Hildy’s most unhinged Trading Spaces designs still lives rent-free in your head?”
Remember that one where they thought it’d be a real good goof to do a 100% white room and a 100% black room
I could not handle Hildy. She was the most chaotic "designer" on that show and it was too much for me.
I thought I had forgotten everything that ever happened on that show except how much I wanted Amy Wynn to be gay. But I remember the hay walls.
Didn’t she plaster the kitchen walls with wine labels in a home owned by a pastor who didn’t drink for reasons of faith?
Hay on the walls!
The memories that just resurfaced! This is one show that I'd love to hear confessionals about. I doubt most people kept their makeovers.
I still think about the hay walls to this day! Hildy was so unhinged lol
I think all the time about the episode where they completely smashed some poor woman’s teapot collection that she had curated over YEARS of travel and antiquing
Fake leaves all over the *bathroom* walls, that is the one that I always remember as absolutely insane.
Feather walls. Not durable, not useful, and... just not. My spouse loved Vern's designs, but I don't remember any of his, but a Hildy design never leaves your head no matter how hard you try. And now I wonder if a sign I saw once was a former Hildy design: House for Sale Full of Mold Cash Only
