Laura Rozen summarizes Masha Gessen on WNYC radio today. She says Gessen thinks Putin is putting things in place propagandistically for an invasion of Poland. Rozen's Twitter thread: twitter.com/lrozen/statu...
Now he just needs to declare that Poland has been taken over by Nazis, to really give him a reason to enact a "special military action" there too. The last one worked out so well for him.
Why lose a war on one front when you could lose it on two?
That will end badly
Masha Gessen is usually reliable but unless Putin has completely lost his marbles, I’d say this is BS of some sort. Much more likely to get up to something in Moldova or the Baltics. To the extent that Russia is capable of “getting up to” anything else foreign these days.
For anyone worried by this, it's close to literally impossible. Not only to succeed, but even to attempt. Look at a map; the rest of Ukraine is in the way.
Putin would have to be straight up delusional to invade Poland. Russia can’t even handle Ukraine decisively. Poland is a NATO country. NATO would stomp Russia like a bug in open, direct warfare.
all the bros on the edge of orgasm..wanting the big release..la petite mort..bukake the world
Russia isn’t even the 2nd best army in Ukraine. In Poland they wouldn’t even be top 5. Putin’s Poland talk can only intimidate/impress whoever hasn’t seen Russia flailing in Ukraine for two years.
Him and what army? ( srsly hasn’t he had to resort to Soviet era equipment in Ukraine?)
