For many of us, Tom Swift (in multiple generations) fed our tendencies to embrace nerd-dom. Nerditude. Nerdity. Whatever. Ever since I passed the age of 18 without having invented my own atom-powered VTOL Flying Lab, I have counted myself a failure in life.
