@roxanegay.bsky.social ypu have an imposter. I’ve blocked and reported but you might want to get more people on that to get it taken down quicker!
Talked with the neighbor. He’s part of a 4 cat family group with his mother and younger siblings. She’s been trying to trap for a while, but we’re going to make sure she doesn’t feed them Saturday morning and we’ll try to catch Saturday and Sunday.
Going to have to, even if it’s just a stray, the level of injury is going to crank every panic dial to 11.
I’m going to talk with my neighbor who I think might be feeding it. This cat has been injured for months, to the point there’s no way it’s hunting. Its leg went from dangling to a stump this week, so something has got to get done.
This one won’t get to keep its leg, so I think it can’t be rereleased. If it’s actually feral I think euthanasia might be more humane because I can’t imagine doing effective wound care on a cat stressed to 11. But I’m hoping it’s just a long-term stray! 🤞🏼
Yes please! I have questions about everything from “how do I actually catch this cat” to “when I catch this cat, what the fuck happens then?”
@catsofyore.bsky.social i am going to try and live trap a feral/v. skittish stray with gory leg injury this weekend. I’ve never tried this. Any resources or suggestions where to look?
It’s been the common reaction among my friends and family too. The ones who got them separately were unfazed.
This is a completely unhelpful reply: Anecdotally, the immune reaction when you get the two together is extra miserable. Separate shots are much less incapacitating.
