Mid-autumn Festival / Moon Festival In some East-Asian or Southeast-Asian countries, traditional festivals are held on the 15th day of the 8th month (8/15) in Chinese lunisolar calendar with a full-moon at night. In Gregorian calendar. it is September 17 for the year 2024. Continental China and Taiwan "Zhōngqiū jié"(中秋節) is a national holiday. It is one of the most important holidays in Chinese culture. Japan "Tsukimi"(月見) or "Otsukimi"(お月見) is the event of viewing Moon held. Korea "Chuseok"(hangul "추석", hanja "秋夕") is a major harvest festival and it is the most important festival in Korean culture.
