But there are also hopeful signs, such as the emergence of cross-institution basketball leagues among the Chinese students. Although declining in numbers, China remains – by far – the largest sending county of international undergraduate students to the U.S.
This story doesn't shy away from several alarming details: obsession with firearms, tendencies toward loneliness & isolation, susceptibilities to right-wing religious/ neo-nationalist misinformation (particularly the parroting of MAGA/ "White Lives Matter" propaganda points) are all troublesome.
