Writing Tip: Readers may not remember an obscure detail that you bring up later in the story. It's helpful to remind them a few times if you plan on that detail being important. Reminding someone of a detail 3 times is usually ideal for them to remember it. #writing#writingtips#writingcommunity

Every time I start creating a new magic item for my players to use, I gotta make sure there isn't some obvious way to break the game with it. Happens more often than you think. Usually I also try to balance it out with a serious downside/risk so that it's not used too frequently. #DnD#TTRPG

So far (few hours in) I'm really enjoying Bloomtown. That being said, it does have some quirks. The story pacing is a bit too rushed for me and they reveal some major plot points waaaay too early. This game would be a lot more creepy and atmospheric if it was a slower burn. 🎮 #gaming#RPG#Bloomtown

Some advice for those seeking an agent / book publication: Know your WHO, WHAT, WANT, and WHY. * WHO are you as a writer, and who do you want to be as a published author / promoter? What are your platform & strengths? * WHAT is your project? What audiences will it sell to? What distinguishes it? >

Writing Tip: You might be tempted to loredump everything at the start of your story. You might be really excited about your lore. But loredumps can be overwhelming and boring. Often it's better to sprinkle lore throughout the story and take your time with it. #writing#writingtips#writingcommunity

There's only so many hours in a session and as a GM you'll need to make sure things continue at a good clip. However, if your players are having fun doing something, let them do it. If your players love to plan, make the session a planning session, ect. The goal is everyone having fun. #DnD#TTRPG

Started playing Bloomtown for the first time recently. I'm really digging it. I will always enjoy Persona-like games with a bit more of a horror twist to it. Those are two of my favorite things combined into a neat package. 🎮 #gaming#RPG

Writing Tip: Something hard to visualize when you're writing is light. It can be easy to assume everything occurs in a well-lit space, but different lighting can have an effect on a scene. Eg, If it's dark enough, a character might not see something important. #writing#writingtips#writingcommunity

Sometimes your players are going to come up with some ludicrously easy way to defeat a hard encounter. As tempting as it is to just say 'it doesn't work' and do the encounter normally, sometimes you just gotta give it to them. Creativity should be rewarded. It encourages players to think #DnD#TTRPG

It will never stop being funny when a midboss in an RPG starts talking all kind of smack to my party, only to be crushed in a single attack because I've been grinding for FAR too long. 🎮 #gaming#RPG
