This is just ridiculous, Larry. I take only small comfort in knowing that at least it's cooler in the mornings than true inferno season. (The four seasons of Arizona: Spring, First Summer, Inferno, Second Summer)

Wow, called out on Bluesky for my sass! 😆 Nothing like trying to balance house-selling, book-launching, and life in general all at once. I am a little sassy.

I love how so many people cite its use as a thesaurus, as if we never had such a tool in the past.

Remove a letter, ruin a movie: To Cath a Thief (an uncomfortable medical drama) Guess Who's Coming to Diner (breakfast served all day) The Princess Brie (a cheesy adaptation)

I love the photos of Patch where he's just lounging like it's his pool. Truly thoughtful of you to build a soaking tub for him.

So it doesn't surprise me in the least to learn that we've historically looked at hurricanes as just the storm itself and not the human impacts that ripple out from there. 2/2

We look at things in silos. I talked with a biz insurance expert who said that they only analyze data for the event itself (fire, flood, wind, etc.). There is no analysis of human impacts: "what if workers can't get there" or "what if the food/water supply is cut off to people." 1/2

Speaking of, I am completely at a loss now that they don't call the trains by the R numbers.
