Maternity/paternity leave should be per BABY not per pregnancy. Some extra time to overlap would have made the world of difference to our mental wellbeing.
I've thought about this report so often in the week since I read it, and put off posting about it because I'm not sure what I think. My usual response when people ask "how I do it" with twins -its equal parts wonderful/amazing and really f***ing hard - it's good to have research into this.
Another finding is that the emotional impact is very present 3yrs after birth, and that parents of multiples today feel less supported than multiple families in previous decades.
