Meetings such as these are invaluable. With the last year of high sea surface temperatures it remains incredibly important to understand coral reef responses to extremes, in the past, present and future 🪸 You can read about the meeting here. www.spp2299.tropicalclimatecorals.de/2024/09/12/s...

Write up of a recent meeting I attended last week in Bremen as part of the DFG Priority Programme “Tropical Climate Variability & Coral Reefs” (SPP 2299). Thanks @thomasfelis.bsky.socialwww.marum.de/en/Meeting-S...
Over 60 researchers from 12 nations visited MARUM last week, for the 2nd Topical Meeting for the @dfgpublic.bsky.social#SPP2299www.marum.de/en/Meeting-S...@climatereefs.bsky.social
The meeting was an excellent couple of days finished off with an #ECR@thomasfelis.bsky.social@jannhargreaves.bsky.social
We had over 50 researchers from 11 countries and 31 different institutions. As always we had childcare available during the meeting, which for the first time was used by a member and invited guest. This helps develop the welcoming and supportive network that we value at the programme.
A couple of highlights! We had a number of guest speakers join us in Bremen this year, from all over the world. Particularly we had scientists join us from Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brazil and Mexico to develop more international collaborative efforts from our programme.
