Yeah, we had a mini version of this with the Covid payments. End result was inflation once goods became readily available. These pilot programs have consistently worked but I still have doubts if they ever become universal. Would love to see a test program that targets an entire 50,000 person city

Targeted programs work without inflation because the rentiers can't raise prices to eat the new money without losing customers. The demand curve doesn't shift much if you give more money to just seniors, just parents with children, or just university kids.
