One of the big hats was on a main drag near my childhood home. The sign and the restaurant, I believe, are both gone now. Ah well.
My brother insists to this day that it’s not a hat, but rather a sandwich with a bite taken out of it and with the foil wrapper peeled back and skirting the bottom end
