If the other apps fall, Bluesky will become an advertising oasis, I fear. It’s still a business after all. They’ll go the path of “money” if more avenues open.

Mind you, I agree in wanting Bluesky to succeed. I just don’t have faith they won’t fumble the ball when it comes to making money at the expense of its user base. 😅

The CEO said that advertising was not their way forwards. Which makes me wonder how they will make money eventually.. like Mastodon? So donations and subs? And/or free tiers with random ads? But tbh, I would take ads as long as they don't become obnoxious like on insta; they do need to make money.
