My former junior resident called me to make sure he was right about a diagnosis and that he told his chief resident the right info. Even though I’m 4k miles away. He was right and I love that I have created a safe space for him.

I’ve put hair oil on my scalp and it needs washing out tonight but also I have to sleep because I’m trying to acclimate to a 2:45 wake up for oral boards so I can be a board certified general surgeon and I just wanna go to sleep!

A reminder that no matter what happens with oral boards at 3:30 AM HST on Wednesday with oral boards, I will still be a surgeon and I will still get to have these views. Passing would be amazing but failing doesn’t mean I’m not safe or a good surgeon. Praying for passing, God’s will be done.
