Orion´s Belt and the Orion Nebula at 12:40am October 8. Much stray light from houses and street lights over the road, these stars are very low on the horizon at that time so had to pull a few adjustments to brightness and contrast levels.
Still setting further south but not south enough. Left Sony a6000 w Canon FD 100-300mm lens (1960s) Right Kodak AZ 405 (Puppy Shooter Bridge Camera) Both cameras in Sunset Scene Selection Mode.
Targets for the evening will be these 2 red blobby things in Scorpio´s tail. As yet I am unable to name these red blobbies but will be pleased enough just to capture them ... or not. Using the 50mm which will NOT fit all of Scorpio head to tail, but may provide reasonable detail
For those with a clear western horizon and good eyes ... the New (nearly) moon is out. The star below the Moon is Spica (Alpha Virgo, 250 ly). Cloods here.
"Do do do looking out my back door". Best I can get on this gear ad location, Milky Way Oct 3rd 9:15 pm. Pic 2 includes Corona Australis at top, bottom third centre Ptolemy Cluster and bottom Scorpio's sting. Detail in ALT
Almost 1000 light years from us at the far end of the Scorpion's sting (pic 2) is the Ptolemy Cluster M7 (pic 1) comprised of about 80 stars. There are enough details in this pic 2 to keep me busy this month. Light Pollution Filter good thing. There was no Kaboom at T CrB either.
The sun is inching further south daily and only a little while before I get the shot I want. Trees in the dusk also.
Same settings for both shots of the Milky Way tonight Oct 2 but the shot to right is WITH a light pollution filter. All details in ALT text.
