You know those "10 simple rules" papers? Courtesy of Pablo Gomez, some interesting analysis of their occurrence in the literature. Gosh there are a lot of them! pgomba.github.io/pgb_website/...

I'm recruiting a graduate student this year - please help me spread the word! Research in our lab integrates field work, genomics, statistical methods, and mathematical modeling to test evolutionary theory and to predict species responses to climate change.

A position for a PhD student is available in the Lotterhos Lab starting Fall 2025. Research in the lab integrates field work, genomics, statistical methods, and mathematical modeling to test evolutionary theory and to predict species responses to climate change.

Killer whales are moving northward into the Arctic as sea ice melts from a warming climate. Using genetics, we identified 2 highly distinct Canadian Arctic populations with origins from the western and eastern North Atlantic. 2/4

Check out our new article in Nature Ecology and Evolution rdcu.be/dISZk After repurposing genetic and genomic data, we found several shortcomings with current archiving practices. In this paper we discuss file format standards, key metadata, and more, that could improve genetic data reuse-ability

New pre-print: Given new global conservation targets to expand the protected area network & maintain genetic diversity in all species, we asked whether the protected area network overlaps with areas of high genetic diversity across land and oceans. ecoevorxiv.org/repository/v...
