Yep. 135k people in Humboldt County, one Labor & Delivery unit. Providence owns almost every medical practice here, and keeps shuttering more services, most recently outpatient imaging. It’s pretty dire here re: healthcare. Most of us forced to travel to Bay Area for specialists now.
Guess whose hospital that is.

Yeah, Providence owns almost every medical practice behind the redwood curtain. It’s dire.
Ghouls at my local hospital, Providence St. Joseph in Eureka CA, handed her a bucket/towels “in case something happens in the car” and told her to go to Mad River Hosp 12mi away. In Oct. MRH is closing their labor & delivery unit leaving Humboldt Co. (pop. 135k) w/ ONLY the Catholic Providence L&D.

OpenAI— the literal *Industry Leader* in LLM/GPT-style "AI"— can't afford to keep its lights on w/o massive outside investments, & even the people who could wring a 7+ figure salary out of their coffers are jumping ship in light of the for-profit direction. Seems… Pretty bad, for "AI" as an industry
