i really honestly think this is a bigger phenomenon than is typically discussed and i think it explains a lot of abnormal/inappropriate interpersonal behavior in a lot of situations, not just work
That said, if you see someone acting antisocially there is a much larger chance now that they're armed—because of the massive rise in gun ownership—so it takes A LOT of misbehavior to make a social intervention like "hey, chill" worth it.
