Across 6 years, we marked common tern family members to study their provisioning behaviour & energy acquisition. The resulting paper, showing that both parents and offspring vary in quality, reflected in their feeding rate, is out now in Animal Behaviour: doi.org/10.1016/j.an...

This is the 33rd year in which we mark the eggs of the Banter See common terns according to their laying order and it seems like at least one of the birds has caught on to it. :-) #longtermstudy#seabirds#ornithology#fieldwork#ternscience
