The choice to have children is deeply personal, and must be a free choice. We embrace the framework of reproductive justice. This means access to contraception, abortion, reproductive assistance, and obstetric care for all. Families come in all shapes and sizes. Step parents are parents.

As we have said before in our statement of principle, the “family” belongs to all of us.

We reject Senator Vance’s framing of childcare as class war. It’s common sense, pro child, pro family and pro worker.

As parents and caregivers fighting for universal childcare, we know the burden that the cost of childcare can have on families. We want our children to be cared for and we want those who care for them to be paid for the invaluable service their provide.

If Senator Vance wants to talk about childcare as class war, let's talk about how millions of Americans struggle to afford childcare.
