This is such a classic case of the bs manipulation of guilt towards future generations. Just like any skill, it's the previous generation's knowledge getting passed down keeps the skill alive. How is it their fault that in the '90s parents generally moved away from stick and automatics took over.

In the US 90s domestics with manuals were almost gone entirely. The only manuals around were in imports, and in those days it was seen as a sign of poverty. Now they want to flip the switch and act like they are superior because their parents cars were manual so they had to learn. Gross.
