The last time you went to bat for a reporter for giving favorable treatment/equal space to absurd lies, it turned out she had a sexual relationship with the article in question’s subject. I’m a little hesitant to trust your judgment here.

It’s not an insane argument from SCOTUS precedent, which seems to say “you must recite the magic words, ‘I am accepting this bribe for this official act’” for it to be a crime. He’s not disputing the quid, or the quo, but the “pro.” SCOTUS’s interpretation just permits laughably open corruption.
