The newcomers complaining about "echo chambers" on Bluesky are frustrated. They thought they could show up here, post some shitty takes, and outrage-farm themselves into a huge following. Instead they're being shunned because of an exploit mitigation technique that's been designed in.
What’s funny about all this is Bluesky is not a place where outrage farming works to make you popular and get a follower boost like it does on Twitter. According to Clearsky.app Jemima is the #1 most blocked person on the app in the last 24 hours and has more blocks total then she has followers.
I really want people to understand that this is just as awful and upsetting and invasive for a trans girl as it would be for a cis girl under the same scrutiny. Because when it happens to cis girls/women people get upset, but when it’s an actual trans girl somehow it’s “complicated.” It’s not.
