I saw a guy on TikTok say you can't "mental health" your way out of accountability, and I want to scream it from the rooftops. Mental health issues don't give you free reign to hurt people and not take responsibility.

The line used in a lot of mental health support orgs is “It explains the behavior, but it doesn’t excuse the behavior.”

Can't tell you how fucking infantilizing it is as a bipolar person to have people dodging accountability by blaming similar illness. I haven't spent decades tuning a toolset for checking in on my gut reactions, just to have people say people like me are an unchecked danger.
