Also, if you're otherkin/fictionkin, be wary of folks who claim to have kintypes from the same timeline as yours. A lot of times, people who do not have their best interests at heart will say that kind of thing as a way to make you more dependent on them. You're the authority on your experiences.

It sucks not having enough confidence in your own experiences that you feel it has to be affirmed by others, but that's why you work on your ability of discernment and be very, very careful with people who claim they know everything about how you were/how you are.
