If I start off with the goal of wanting to make molasses cookies, and I don't know how to make molasses cookies. I will have to learn the process of making molasses cookies. And, if I desire to do so in the future, I can in fact iterate on that recipe AND use the process to make other baked goods!

If people spend a small number of years in formal education, & if they are taught solely direct/explicit instruction methods to "build background knowledge", knowing there is more to learn than can possibly be taught: how does that prepare anyone for the rest of their life outside of schooling?
