...when governments call people 'dangerous' in this way they're using performative speech: They say it and they make it so. But what's happening here isn't subjectification, it's 'abjectification', creating non-subjects, non-people, who exist outside the law and who can therefore be treated any way the government likes. I mean, we don't need trials and evidence for them 'cause they're the bad guys! If they have their rights violated or they die well, you shouldn't care about that because they were never really alive in a way that mattered. In fact, if you do care about what happens to them then that's suspicious.
