So… how does it work in NY? He has to step down, or is impeached, or like Trump, nothing happens?

I assume it’s like Boston and there’s no rule against being mayor while in prison.

For now, this is only prosecutors saying "Adams broke the law", not a judge listening to the evidence and the defense arguing against it and the judge deciding he's guilty. So anything before trial's over is just politics, not officially affecting Adams's position.

Apparently the governor can remove him and the Public Advocate, Jumaane Williams, would be Acting.
