I have been playing ToME on and off for over 10 years now...it's a turn-based roguelike that emphasizes deliberate and Diablo-like character builds, and it's become so second nature to me that I'll put on a podcast or something while I play
in many ways, TTYD is Paper Mario but better--but I still enjoy playing the OG more, I think it's got better level design and more balanced combat and I like the Peach interludes better...I wish the partners would have interacted with each other more, but the writers never did figure that one out
there's this bit near the end of Harvester where an NPC talks about how some art is hard to look at but it's still art, and...boy, this one's so gory and offensive that they may as well have quoted that guy on the box--but the weird and off-kilter and Twin Peaks-y vibe they hit is spectacular
a Hikaru and Suzette, since I've not drawn them in a while 💕 (reposting because the full version got SUPER crunchy 😭) { #oc#ocsky#art#illustration }
I have a lot of nostalgia for the first Mega Man X, but I have to admit, the peak of the series is probably X4--or maybe I'm just saying that because this is when they drop all pretense and make a game that's mostly about Zero, the most tragic and compelling character of the cast
another obvious one, given my recent fixation, but hey, R-Type Final was a surprisingly melancholic deconstruction of the shoot-em-up genre, of the terrible lengths humans will go to to win wars...and a game I bought myself right after a significant life event
for some reason, when I was in middle school, some tank artillery game got really big among the students and we'd sneak it on our school laptops...but little did they know I'd already had practice in this genre of game before
petal crash is a charming and overall excellent puzzle game. ore kid is my favorite character but all the others are pretty cool too. like daize. his ending is a workers' uprising, that's neat.
There's a place where everyone can be happy It's the most beautiful place in the whole fucking world It's made of candy canes and planes and bright red choo-choo trains And the meanest little boys, the most innocent little girls And you know, I wish that I could go there
my favorite Final Fantasy is the absolute clown hours one, the one with the Job system that's really fun to play with, the one about four friends who never give up even though they know they're in over their heads
