Queer folk, it’s time to kill your X App account. It just is. No horny porny, capitalist dealings, etc is worth this risk.
Elon Musk’s X is changing its privacy policy to allow third parties to train AI on your posts techcrunch.com/2024/...
On Wednesday, social network X (formerly Twitter) updated its Privacy Policy to indicate that it would allow third-party "collaborators" to train their AI
I had over 3.5k followers on X. Little to no actual engagement outside of likes. Did I like leaving? No. But it’s not Twitter anymore. No matter how much people want to deny it. Is starting over frustrating? Of course. But life is about change. Whether you like it or not. This is a better place.
When Elon floated the idea of getting rid of the block functionality, I started getting rid of it. Profile’s gone now. Glad for it. It’s more chill here. Little to no drama and actual engagement from other gay men.
Dammit. Yep. This might be the final nail in the coffin for that place for me.
Who wants to use AI that’s been trained on all that hateful data? Or wait, can we also just go on X and collectively post weird stuff so the AI will be useless?
I still know a fair few folks that maintain their accounts out of anxiety over the connections they may lose, but at a certain a point you have to ask: If this isn’t enough, what will it take?
Unfortunately I've seen many that came here on Bluesky from X back when Bluesky was giving codes just to brag that they got a code cause it was cool only to never actually leave X Some people are just addicts to garbage I guess 🤷🏻♂️
I wish it was that simple/easy. I have way too much invested in a lot of the networks I've built over 10+ years on that app.. I just can't kill the accounts I have until something like here can REALLY take it's place.. and BlueSky is getting there, but not quite yet.
I got rid of mine last year. I’m glad I no longer am part of cesspool anymore
Done it last year. Never looked back.
Yea. Its time.
