i think this mismatch is a crucial part of social media. it also happens a lot when people are trying to work through ideas in public. over the years i've had times where i post things and in my head i imagine i'm thinking out loud but others consume it as a strident, deeply held opinion of mine

writing being considered a "cold" form of communication makes so much sense to me. writing "warm" seems to require a level of descriptiveness and attention to word choice that is so much more work than the average post.
