What to do

in a small panel a fairly nondescript person stares looking vexed saying "I don't know what to do with myself anymore" In a big central drawing of that person, mouth agape, drooling, with a small window into their head showing them as a little ball person, lines point outward to various options. Make some food: -forget to turn off the gas and fall asleep. - eat something expired and barf. -realize how pathetic my groceries are. - imagine my parents disappointed -burn my house down by accident. Try to go out somewhere - get hit by a car - run into a guy i don't want to and make awkward small talk. Stay perfectly still - get mad at myself for not doing anything - spend 12 hours reading about bugs - starve to death and bugs eat me and nobody notices for months - become an embarrassing factoid on a podcast or something. all options lead to "life becomes an agglomeration of regrets and failures" In a second small panel, the person, now eyes wide, says "wow that sucks.

hand puppet

i was 7. my favorite show was a local public access tv show. think sesame street but with almost no budget. it didn't matter to me how cheap it looked. I loved it. But one day i turned on the tv and instead of seeing all my favorite puppets, on screen was just human hands slapping together and gurgling. i heard a voice from the tv say "my skin. my skin. they've taken my skin. They've taken everything from me and now they won't even give me the dignity of leaving my body intact. look at my bones." that was the last episode
