I believe they are also required to be usable without apps etc, for a variety of reasons.

No Insulet Omnipods (wearing one now) - which are disposable pumps which make them the most reliable (I had one fail this morning and it's just total pump replacement) have no user interface and can only be controlled by apps

Hi! This is the device I use! So the app is optional. You can use the pump standalone but the app is super duper convenient bc you can bolus from your phone using it so a lot of people use it. I usually don't, but I have it installed. I think this slipped through bc it's not forced connectivity
