This is true, but I still enjoy following them and keeping up with the lore. I'm still sad they did my boy Desmond dirty. 😔 (Also I haven't played Valhalla or Mirage yet, so don't know what happens in those yet)

Its a rule of thumb for AC games where the protagonist gets screwed over in some way. Layla doesn't have a great ending either.
