One last one for #ArtAdvent Calendar. Watercolor cards from this year (C-7 lights) and last year (ornaments). Fun with glass, one of my favorite things to paint! Thank you to everyone for making the holidays so much brighter with your art. Wishing happiness to all, and peace to those who need it. 💙

The bulbs are elongated and wider at the top, where a green cap shows a short bit of the cord that would make up the light string. Inside, each bulb is a small landscape scene featuring a fantastic nebula sky. Soft reds and violets mingle among deep indigo spaces and many stars. At the horizon, each scene has a distant mountain range in silhouette against the sky. In the foreground, we see a silhouette of a few pine trees, backlit by the brilliant stars. Painted highlights remind us we are looking into a glass bulb. Painted with watercolor and gouache on 140lb watercolor paper. The left card is approx. 5" x 5" and the right is 4" x 6".

One tree, just right of center and at about middle distance, is darker and stands out in more detail. Painted highlights remind us we are looking into glass spheres. Both are painted with watercolor and gouache. The page they are painted on is 6" x 9".
