As a conservative, I'm gonna vote for the guy that was responsible for the first non-peaceful transfer of power in US history since the Civil War!

Except that #Asheville WAS the place the rich were moving to, to get away from climate change. There is no safe space, it’s coming for all of us.

So many things will be affected by this. Just beginning to think about the other issues, like next month's early voting. How in the world will Buncombe County manage that? Seeing the best in our local people. So many things will be affected by this. Just beginning to think about the other issues, like next month's early voting. There continues to be only one way out of the region, the other 3 being cut off due to major road damage (I'm talking interestates, here.) The Feds are airlifting in relief supplies, as getting them in via I26 from SC was taking too long (and that state is heavily damaged as well.)There continues to be only one way out of the region, the other 3 being cut off due to major road damage (I'm talking interestates, here.) Governor Cooper was in AVL yesterday, along with the head of FEMA, and relief is finally rolling. But many, many areas are completely cut off and will be hard to reach. Just our geography makes this a challenge, and with the trees downed and so much debris, areas are impassable.Governor Cooper was in AVL yesterday, along with the head of FEMA, and relief is finally rolling. I love this idea, I wish we’d done this too.

Stay safe. Asheville is in for a ton of rain.

That’s a tough choice. But always better to avoid it I think. Fingers crossed.

Sorry, of course that’s from the NHC. It’s been a long day.

Thanks! We're personally in a pretty good spot, but expect when the winds hit for limbs/trees to come down and then maybe power and water go out. That may be late Thurs/Fri. Hoping everyone stays safe. Thanks! We're personally in a pretty good spot, but expect when the winds hit for limbs/trees to come down and then maybe power and water go out.
