Well, turns out I could swap 2 tight multiplatform changes for 1 20 minute change at a station with only one platform, and still get there at the same time. So I did that. Safely at the hotel and ready for two days of deathly dull, but safety critical learning tomorrow and Tuesday

My journey for a work course tomorrow is now scheduled to include 7 different trains and get me there a mere 3 hours later than planned. FML

If you know Durham, there's tiny art galley/framers shop along church street on the way to the Uni's science site. In the back of that they used to do wonderufl greasy spoon style fried breakfasts. The paintings are still there, but I went in a few years ago and no sign of the cafe
I've walked past it a lot, still never actually been onboard though. Only actually been on the ones on station and the one that's alongside being prepped to go out.
What is a Lightship? A birdshit covered enclosed space. That's my experience anyway. Oh, and noisy, when we turn the gennies on at least. NGL, still kinda like them though.
