To reiterate: Pixar's Inside Out 2 is the highest grossing animated film of all time. Pixar also pushed artists into 7-days-a-week crunch, and right when they were getting to the finish line, laid them off. These overworked artists lost their bonus, healthcare, and income in SF.
That is bloody heartbreaking, and obscene.
That is the kind of shit I'm used to hearing game companies doing when they're nearing the end of a game's development cycle. It's atrocious.
I'm sure they'll "capture" some new "talent" from one of the dozen brown people countries that is being actively bombed by the US right now to ensure the next production comes out on time
pixar really did sacrifice everything for the production of inside out 2
So like They promised a bonus and laid them off to avoid paying it? Jfc Guillotines
Also, the timing of the firing was so Pixar/Disney also wouldn’t have to pay the employees bonuses for the movie’s success. Said bonus being the justification for paying them lower-than-average wages.
Thats pretty damn shitty
Speechless 😑
And then they ask why we become wary and feral about dealing with entertainment corporations which, evidently, care more about their CEOs getting fatter bonuses and new yachts than treating their workforce right.
