Still time left to apply for both positions!
My lab is currently recruiting two postdoc and/or technician positions. The first position is NSF funded and is investigating how coastal stressors ( hypoxia, coastal acidification, and low salinity events) shape the genomic diversity of eastern oyster populations across the northeastern USA.
The Puritz Lab of Marine Evolutionary Ecology in the department of Biological Sciences at the University of Rhode Island is recruiting highly motivated applicants for a postdoctoral position starting ...
We forecast across multiple spatial scales - sewer shed, county, region, and state. Local health departments get a weekly memo showing forecasted hospitalizations, with historical trend of observed hospitalizations. And state department of health gets the state situation report.
Forecasting COVID-19 hospitalizations across New York State using wastewater surveillance. Our paper now out showing a 10-day lead time for COVID-19 levels in wastewater to forecast hospitalizations. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti... 🧪#EpiSky
I just resubmitted a manuscript with 12 reviewers. Anybody ever have more than that? What's the record? 🧪
How do editors of scientific journals determine which articles to send to review? I just saw a study with no data and no impact published in a flagship public health journal. Should I spend more time on the cover letter? Just wait until my name's more established? Review more for that journal?🧪
"Fortunately" we had a polio outbreak last year. The wastewater surveillance network was immediately beneficial beyond Covid-19. Now working on incorporating opioid use surveillance in wastewater, as that's front of mind for health departments.
We built the New York State wastewater surveillance network on Covid. It's helping the response. The reason I spend so much time on it though? So we are more ready for the next one.
