I too, immediately decided this was now a “Tuttle Table Leg” Stan account.
CUNY is one of the most important institutions in New York. Instead of stupid articles about elite schools, I wish the NYTimes had cared about these colleges instead. I’ve seen first hand how they help young ppl move up in life (myself as a grad student at the GC included)!
CUNY was and is a GEM in this city and to watch its consistent and ongoing defunding in real time while the NYPD simply grows without any sign of an end is one of the greatest tragedies of the 21st century.
She is sweet and brave!!!!
Also, I got it as a prezzie right before COVID hit seattle, stashed it in my default luggage, and then didn’t travel for a year and a half and totally forgot I had it. When I finally went on a trip, I opened my luggage and the angels sang.
And yes, it’s been a game changer. Just such a relief to know I can properly tank up on good tea. It probably takes up as much room as a sneaker when packing, but worth it.
It was a present but I don’t think it’s fancy. The failure mode is that is doesn’t -exactly- turn off when you’d expect it to, and if you fill it too much it’s kinda sputtery with hot water. But if you just unplug it promptly and don’t overfill, it’s fine.
My husband bought me a collapsible silicone kettle for traveling, and it is delightful! Moderately hazardous, I’ll admit, but delightful.
I really wish the AAS compiled more stats around this. It sucks up so much effort and money and time across the field, and we have so little shared understanding of what is going on.
