We're currently working our way through John Finch's A Family At War. This early 70s Thames drama series is brilliant: great writing, compelling performances and, for a moderate drama budget, really impressive. Hugely recommended, now deleted but grab it on DVD if you can.
Please can Gok Wan be the permanent #Pointless friend? He's just lovely!
Wow! Amazing! I'll check this out! Thanks!
Really?! Which one? 😯
Good riddance. Rosie Duffield quits Labour over Starmer 'hypocrisy' www.bbc.com/news/article...
She says she is leaving the party over the PM's "cruel" policies and "hypocrisy" at accepting gifts.
Fascinating thread. Staggered to find out about this.
Years later, as a teenager, I remember being on holiday in France. They tested their emergency sirens there regularly - maybe they still do? - and I absolutely s*** myself one morning when that horrifying wail filled the air.
I was 10 when Threads was originally shown. My parents wouldn't let me see it, despite my asking repeatedly if I could watch it. I'll be forever grateful. I can't imagine what effect it would have had on me. I was still terrified by the prospect of nuclear war though - it was that pervasive.
