The butchery was a shop within a shop, owned by Louis Edwards, who at the time was the chairman of Man Utd. Apparently he arranged to visit the shop the day after Man U played at Ayresome Park (where they lost). He wasn't happy when all of the butchers turned up for work wearing Boro scarves
