i remember when i think NCLB in the US resulted in maths being taught in a manner that *appears* more complicated to people who've been taught rote memorization, but is actually how the brain naturally processes math, and spawned countless angry old people on FB whining about how it's too hard
I was taught to hate maths by a teacher who would cane me for failing to get the rote learning right, you didn't "teach" me anything other than that Mr Finny you shitbag. I'm glad there's good teachers about.
