I'm sorry Slack, you're doing fucking WHAT with user DMs, messages, files, etc? I'm positive I'm not reading this correctly.

The recording from my talk at #Observability#OpenTelemetry, but are you achieving effective observability?

Learn more at https://kubecon.io Shift Into an Observability Mindset with OpenTelemetry - Daniel Gomez Blanco, Skyscanner Truly embracing observability is as much a technology challenge as it is a cultural one. In order to fully reap the benefits, and to efficiently and reliably operate our increasingly complex software systems, organisations must often shift their mindset and rethink their monitoring and debugging practices followed for years, or even decades. How do you communicate the value of OpenTelemetry to deliver a future-proof strategy? What are the best practices to adopt it with minimal friction? How do you make sure that data volumes are optimised as your traffic scales? How can you encourage teams to make a good use of each telemetry signal to observe their systems? How can you relate the value of observability to business outcomes? This talk aims to provide answers to these questions and give clear advice on how to adopt an observability culture at scale, powered by OpenTelemetry.

I agree. Disclaimer, I work for Skyscanner, but I'm excited about this.

Ah, neat! I just noticed my oven clock is going to autocorrect itself and be on time again tomorrow, after 6 months being an hour ahead

Absolutely horrendous weather to go for a run. Windy, rainy, and cold. So, I decide to go to the gym and run on the treadmill because I'm too old for this shit. Come out of the gym to blue skies and no wind. Scotland doing a Scotland again!
