There is a max blob size where anything will be rejected by the CDN (1mb), but I didn't noticed much of a difference, and setting max file size in Lightroom had inconsistent/worse results, so I just shoot for 2000px on the long edge to avoid downscale interpolation (which is meh and also has a bug).

An example: if I set max file size in Lightroom to 1mb, it would output around 768kb instead of closer to 1mb, where leaving it to long edge resize resulted in 1.4mb. Uploading and comparing both files, and the 1.4mb that had undergone compression looked better than how the CDN served the 768kb jpg.
